Veronique Price is the owner of Antoine's Cafe. Her love of hospitality began at a young age of 15 working at her family's restaurants in France. Since then she has worked in every area of the restaurant industry. In 1991, she opened Antoine's Cafe serving classic American food with a French twist in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
In 2007 the family opened Café Mimosa, and her son Antoine took the rains having been raised in the family restaurants from France to San Clemente for over 13 years.
The name comes from the Mimosa plant. The French Province has the very floral tree, the Mimosa, which was the base for perfume. As the family thought about a name for the second restaurant location, Café Mimosa was obviously perfect. It encompassed the family roots from France, the beauty and floral elegance of the plant and what would be the signature brunch beverage… The Mimosa.
Having two restaurants in the same small town that would both be serving breakfast and lunch, Café Mimosa had to create a different menu that would still capture the people in town without taking any business away from Antoine’s Café. So,they started brunch. This also turned into a higher quality food. They created a menu with classic and basic French recipes. People enjoy the experience of a delectable meal created in such a short amount of time, while dining in a small family home. After many changes to the food concept over the years, they’ve got it! Breakfast, Lunch, Brunch, and of course Mimosas!
Antoine and his wife Brittany live, breathe, and of course enjoy Mimosa(s). Having lived above the restaurant for over seven years and starting their family there, the two are working as a husband and wife team to make sure the future of Mimosa continues to keep hungry brunchers fed and appease food enthusiasts near and far. The future of Café Mimosa will all be hand in hand encompassing the family as a whole. Family, in reference to; Antoine’s Café, Café Mimosa, The Red Fox Lounge, and Antoine & Brittany’s two children Eloise and Waylon. “For them, growing up in the restaurant biz will play both a blessing and a curse, but it’s what our family does. We grow up in restaurants. We’re also positive they will drive the kitchen staff crazy”.
Cheers from our family to yours!
